Imagine the Possibilities

What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?” Vincent Van Gogh

After 30 years working for organizations committed to downtown revitalization, I started my own consulting firm in September 2022. Eight months into this new journey, I am having the time of my life and am excited as I build ITP Consulting, our clients and portfolio.

I find it personally rewarding working with clients on projects that are interesting, challenging, and fun. I find great joy helping others succeed. I have also spent time fine tuning my placemaking research. In May, I was the keynote speaker at the BIABC Conference in Victoria, BC and introduced my work on ROE© – return on emotion – and how our connection to places is defined by our emotions. I’m excited to continue this work and provide it as a tool on how we can create meaningful places together.

I have some really cool clients. In the beginning of the year I worked on a new PBS documentary mini-series called Muraling Austin which aired in March and has been picked up by the fifteen largest PBS markets in the country.

I loved working for the Quebec Government and Consulate in Houston connecting creative firms in Montreal with SXSW attendees and contacts I have around the country.

On the retail front I am working with the City of Cedar Park, Texas evaluating if and how retail can be part of a new signature park strategy. I am also working with the remarkable team at the Midtown Alliance in Atlanta on how to implement a successful retail strategy.

This summer I have been asked to be on one of the development teams for the new Austin Convention Center. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to rethink convention centers and how they can play a pivotal role in the life of a community. I am also working with Capital Factory on strategic initiatives as they explore new partnerships and opportunities.

It has been a crazy, beautiful, and rewarding eight months and I cannot wait for the next chapter as the journey of being a consultant continues. Thank you for your support and please reach out if you want to collaborate, connect, create, or just want to catch up.
